The Christmas Pajamas

Christmas Pajama Sewing

This is just a short up-date post.  Different ones have always been curious and have asked about the Christmas pajama sewing that I do every year for the grand kids.  And, YES, I did do sewing this year.  But we changed things up a little bit this year. Things that were different this year-

  • I did not go to M & L Fabrics in Buena Park, CA this year.  This is where I am able to buy the large quantities of fabric at a reasonable price needed for all those pajamas. This years fabric was bought at our local JoAnn Fabrics store. (They do run some good sales on flannel before Christmas.)  I bought 2 full bolts to make the jammies for the girls and choose a different print for the little boys.
  • I did not make pajamas for the 4 oldest grandchildren.  It takes a huge amount of fabric for the larger sizes and for the big boys bottoms.  I was also informed that some of the older ones did not like to wear them anymore and were embarrassed….That was fine with me,  I was not hurt, and was glad the Moms were honest with me.
  • I also did not make a pair for the youngest, Miss Adeline.  The sleeping gown may have been cute on her, but it is rather impractical for a baby, so we skipped her.  She is cute just the way she is!

So here is a blurry photo of the grands in their jammies…uhh, you will notice little Charley, in front, not in jammies-he drenched himself and had to be changed!  The girls said that they liked these pajamas the best-the flannel was a very pretty grey sprigged with red flowers, and red buttons.  They looked cute.  But…with that many jammies, some of them got mixed up-Kiera is wearing Lexi’s and vice versa, so one was too long and one too short.  Their names are inside and hopefully they get it straightened out when at home!

When I was done with the pajama sewing, I proclaimed, as I do every year, “I am not doing this again!”  So… we shall see….

We celebrated our family Christmas on New Year’s Day this year-we have to share our kids with their other families and they switch off every other year.   Oh, how we love our family and spending time with us all together!

Daniel, in his Rudolph nose-I couldn’t seem to snap the photo while his nose was lit up!

I trust that you all had a blessed Christmas!
