This is a first for me!)

You can read about it at MargiesGarden on Etsy.

Purple Floral Apron

The Purple Floral Apron

3-023

Here is another apron that I made.

This apron was especially pleasing to me, as the buyer of it found me through my blog, in searching and looking for an old fashioned style apron. This apron was a Christmas gift, and the report was that the receiver was very pleased with it.  This is a first for me-selling an apron through my blog.  All of my other apron sales have been through my daughters etsy store-Marias Joy.

4-025

A close up of one of the pockets.

I was able to take photos of all of my fabrics, and this is the fabric that was specially chosen.

The back view.

I appreciate that Maria is willing to be my model!

2-022

Side view.

This apron is what I call a ‘Grandma Buttons Apron’.  My husbands grandmother wore her aprons every day, and I was able to copy the apron pattern from one of her old aprons.  Grandma Button was a very short waisted woman, and I had to alter the pattern to fit a regular womans size.   I make the aprons in a misses size and a womens size.  I have also made a few childs size aprons.

These aprons are very practical, providing full front coverage, with 2 large size, practical pockets on the front.  All of the edges are bound in bias tape, and the inside seams are clean finished with serged seams.  The fabric is machine wash and dry.

A few  changes that we made, through Maria’s suggestion, was to add the ruffle along the bottom edge and to use the coordinating fabric for the pockets and ties-‘just for pretty’!  Grandma Button would not have approved-it would have been too fancy for her!

Proverbs 8:17

“I love them that love me;

and those that seek me early shall find me.”

A New Apron

A New Apron

The Green Apple Apron

4-130

Here is a lovely new apron, that I just made for my mother. I think it turned out very cute!  She picked out the fabric, a sweet print in apple green, with alternating stripes of tiny green polka dots and green apples.

This apron has a larger white polka dot fabric ruffle along the bottom edge with matching pockets and back ties.

3-129

This apron is made from the pattern that I copied from my husbands grandmother.  She wore her apron everyday-her name was Maude Button, and I call these aprons Grandma Buttons Aprons.

This is a very old fashioned style apron, giving full coverage for all of the cooking spills.  The back does not have a neck strap like so many aprons do, so there is no neck fatigue in wearing this apron-it can be worn all day in comfort.  It is so practical and pretty, too.

The edges are all bound in coordinating bias tape, and the inside seams are all machine serge finished – the apron should give many years of good service.  The fabric in all my aprons is good quality cotton, and they are machine wash and dry.
